ARC Review: What a Wallflower Wants by Maya Rodale

I love when one of my favorite authors does not disappoint! Maya Rodale is such a smart writer! She always pushes the limits with her hero and heroine. Although the previous (Bad Boys & Wallflowers #3) were lighter, the material covered in this book is dark and uncomfortable, but it does not in any way take away from the story. I also applaud Ms. Rodale for using her literary voice to discuss the importance of the issues she covered in this story. Her writing is always enjoyable and her characters are always lovable! In the previous “Bad Boys and Wallflowers” books we saw how her two friends and former wallflowers, Emma and Olivia, find their true loves. Prudence is happy for her friends but realizes that her chances at true love were over many years ago. She finally takes her fate into her own hands, although she has always been...

A Little OCD Never Hurt

A little compulsive disorder never hurt anyone, did it? At least that's what I told myself every time I opened the fridge and saw the mess my family ignored. The compulsiveness started with near empty milk containers. Really people? Two teaspoons left in the jug and you can't: a) finish the darn thing, or b) wash out the jug and open a new one. God forbid they ever write on the grocery list (handily hanging on the side of said refrigerator) that milk is required in the next grocery shop.... It manifested further when summer was over and condiment containers remained with tiny blobs of yellow, red or white lining the bottom of their jars. 'Don't throw it out. We could have another barbecue. We're Canadian. We pull out the grill in the middle of December for crying out loud.' Then, the final straw. Three - count them - three opened...

Twisted (Eternal Guardians #7) by Elisabeth Naughton.

I've been following the Eternal Guardians series and couldn't wait to read Twisted which is Nick's story and wasn't disappointed at all. This tale really explains Nick's half breed heritage and family and as his powers grow stronger his true destiny is revealed. Zagreus has Nick in his dungeon and has Cynna, (a beauty, held on a bad deal she should never of made with Zagreus) torture him in an attempt to break his will so his god powers will come in. Cynna is a strong, feisty, determined woman, who has to make the decision to disobey Zagreus who'd promised to break her mind, body and soul. But he'll never have her will. Can she save herself and help Nick escape? I liked her very much. Nick has always been a loner so it was nice to see his character getting closer to the someone and seem to be a part...

5 Things About: Elizabeth Boyle

I used to do these Tuesday 5 Things interviews all the time, but got out of practice. My bad! But because so many of you have asked me to continue doing them, I’m gathering them in as I write this. In the past we found out 5 Things about some of my favorite friends and authors, including Katharine Ashe, Sarah MacLean, and Laura Lee Guhrke (who like so many authors, can’t count and answered way more than 5 questions! LOL), who all agreed to take a list of crazy questions from me and give up 5 of their secrets. In the coming weeks, I’ve got Lorraine Heath and Elizabeth Hoyt coming, along with Melissa McClone. Watch this space on Tuesdays and you may soon find your new favorite author. So to start this off anew and to be fair, I am taking the 5 Things Challenge myself. So without further...
