Tessa's Top 3* Books of 2016by Tessa Woodward
I read a lot of books this year and normally I’d be hard pressed to pick favorites but there were some real standouts! Here are my Top 3* of 2016.
(*and by 3 I actually mean 4…)
(Not including the books I edited which were all my favorites, obviously.)
My absolute top book of 2016 was Sally Thorne’s The Hating Game.
Oh my crickets, this book! It’s everything you love from your favorite rom com – witty banter, love at first hate, strawberries, and super hot hero. If you haven’t read this book yet, you NEED to run out and pick up a copy.
Joanna Shupe’s Magnate was another of my favorite books this year.
If you love Regency romances or Edith Wharton (but sexy) and want something a little different, this is the book for you. It’s set in the Gilded Age in New York. In fact, I loved it so much, I managed to convince her to come write some books for Avon next year! Be sure to keep your eyes out for A DARING ARRANGEMENT coming October 2017!
If you have talked to me in the last month, I’ve probably mentioned this next book to you. I’m completely obsessed with Amanda Bouchet’s A Promise of Fire.
I happen to love me some fantasy romance and this book was my catnip. An insanely well-written, sexy adventure with a fascinating mythology. I am so desperate for the next book to come out.
It’s no secret that I’m a Kate Middleton-ite. So you know I jumped at the chance to read The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan.
But as a royal wedding expert, I was holding it to a pretty high standard. And it did not disappoint in the least! I wish it could have been 1000 pages longer. Whenever agents ask me what book I wish I’d acquired, I now always say this one.
Bonus titles because I read a lot of really great things this year:
THE VELVET HOURS by Alyson Richman
AS GOOD AS NEW by Jennifer Dawson
